Open Tennis
It is Golden Rain Foundation policy that ALL Buckeye Courts are open to ALL Rossmoor Residents and their guests for Open Tennis every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The following guidelines are offered to also allow private game play to co-exist with Open Tennis play.
An Open Tennis group is defined as 4 or more players. Sequence of play is rotational. Groups often consist of five or even six players. In these cases, at the end of each game, a new (waiting) player rotates into the server's ad court, the previous server goes out, and the remaining two players rotate clockwise for the upcoming game. To facilitate rotation, games are always played no-ad when people are waiting.
Open Tennis Groups are asked to begin using 3, 4, 5, and 6. If those courts become fully occupied with Open Tennis play, courts 1, 2, 7, and 8 will then be used for Open Tennis play.
Private game players may sign in at the Buckeye tennis kiosk as usual during this time period beginning with courts 1, 2, 7, and 8. These private games will PROMPTLY and COURTEOUSLY defer to any Open Tennis group (of 4 or more players) when asked. Under no circumstances will any private game group ask any Open Tennis group to move to another court.
