  • Summary of RTC January Survey Results Emily reported that 40 people responded to the survey 
  • Emily, Terry, and Laura will compile results and send out an e mail with the results of the survey
  • Status report on review/update of RTC website --Friday ball machine sessions are not listed

Tournaments - Iekuni "Ike" Ichikawa

  • Wild Card February 4th was cancelled due to the weather
  • Rick Sterling will take Ike's place from 3/1 - 4/11
  • From now on all sign ups for Wild Card Tournaments will be at the kiosk

Social - Laura Townsend

  • Crab Fest was extremely successful
  • Bill and Laura did an amazing job and figured perfectly on ordering the right amount of crab
  • next year would like to have access to the room earlier
  • hire a couple of people to clear tables and clean up
  • have people bring appetizers and salads and RTC can provide dessert

Membership - Terry Quinlan

  • Directories will be picked up this week from the printer Terry and Jerry will put labels on them.
  • Board members will each be asked to personally deliver about 2 dozen to people living near you
  • 202 members now
  • 66 Ball Machine Users 

Facilities - Jerry Quinlan

  • Monthly Court Usage   In January there were 1252 players signed up (about 40) per day  but it was extremely rainy
  •  New Training Device to get people to hit the ball higher 

Publicity - Linda Hague

  • Requested photos for publicity from Mission Hills (Dave Kern) and Crab Fest (Laura)

Old Business

  • Resurfacing of tennis courts (Fred Ponce contract manager is contact)
  • Installation of Awnings
  • Lights at Buckeye - Bob Benz to install
  • Dollar Patio Reserved for September 8 for Golf/Tennis Potluck (Loc Barnes to organize)
  • Defibrillator at Buckeye
  • April Fools Party - Following the Wildcard Tournament with a later start 10- 11:30 ) Lenny Cooke to organize lunch BBQ from 12 - 2 with cheeseburgers, hotdogs, and beer provided by RTC.  Participants to provide something to grill and something to share.?
  • People will be asked to bring an April Fool's joke to share.
  • Cinco de Mayo BBQ in May with free margaritas and taco shells with all the fixings.   Participants to provide something to grill and something to share
  • October Fest with free Brautwurst and German beer
  • Status of updating website to receive payments on line.--Al will speak to Chris Slee about that.

New Business

Eugene gave out a little tennis charm to his class members after completing his class series.  Shari Wiseman suggests we reimburse him for this.  Maybe $50. or a nice bottle of wine. Jerry will ask Eugenio what he spent so we can reimburse him. 

Shari also asks whether we should have a Social Membership for those no longer playing tennis but wish to keep their club membership going. 

  • Keeping hats in stock - Mike Ying to reorder hats and visers. We should check if the printer can shrink the RTC logo to fit on a viser.
